About Tourist4Tourist

What is Tourist4Tourist?

A free travel guide to every country in the world, online since 2004. Each country page gathers the practical facts you need before you go, such as entry rules, money, local time and emergency numbers, with the source and the date each one was last checked.

Who runs Tourist4Tourist?

Tourist4Tourist is an independent project started in 2004 by Alian Schiavoncini, a web consultant and traveller. You can read the whole story on the About Us page.

Is Tourist4Tourist free?

Yes. Every guide and article is free to read, and you do not need an account.

Which countries do you cover?

Every member state of the United Nations, plus a number of territories that travellers treat as separate destinations, such as Greenland or Puerto Rico. The guides are grouped into nine regions: see them all.

Is the site available in other languages?

Not yet. The guides and articles are in English for now.

Using the guides

Who writes the travel guides?

The first guides were written by travellers who shared what they had seen. Since 2026 every practical fact comes from an official or trusted source, such as government travel advice, health authorities and national statistics. Ulisse, our AI editor, gathers and drafts the information, and our editors review it before it goes online.

How do you check the information?

Each section of a guide lists the sources it is based on, with a link. We prefer official sources: a ministry, a health authority, the airline or the airport itself. The date at the bottom of each guide tells you when it was last checked.

Can I rely on the visa and entry information?

Use it to prepare, then confirm it on the official link we give before you book. Entry rules depend on your passport and can change at short notice, so the government website of the country you are visiting always has the final word.

How often are the guides updated?

We check them regularly, and sooner when a change is announced: a new entry rule, a health notice, a new currency or a tourist tax. The date at the bottom of each guide shows the latest check.

Do you use artificial intelligence?

Yes, and we say so. Ulisse, our AI editor, reads the official sources and drafts updates and articles. A person reviews every article before it is published, and every fact keeps its link to the source, so you can check it yourself.

Where do the photos come from?

From free libraries such as Wikimedia Commons and Openverse, under licences that allow reuse. The author and the licence are credited under each photo.

Help us improve

I found something out of date. How can I tell you?

At the bottom of every guide there is a short form, Suggest an update. Choose the part of the guide, tell us what has changed and, if you can, add a link to an official page. We check every suggestion against an official source before changing the guide.

Can I share my own travel tips?

Yes, please do: write to us from the Contact Us page. We read every message, and tips that we can confirm may find their way into the guides.

How does the site pay for itself?

Tourist4Tourist is an independent project. If we add booking or affiliate links, they will be clearly marked and will never decide what a guide says.

What do you do with my data?

We use your name and email only to reply to you, and we delete them from our suggestion queue once a suggestion is closed. The details are in our Privacy Policy.
